Day 29: 0 words. I knew when I sat down with my computer and the words didn’t come, that I wasn’t going to finish the 10,000 I needed to complete this manuscript by the 30th. That’s ok though. I don’t want to force words when they don’t want to be written as much as I can help it. I’m hopeful I can finish the 10,000 I need by the end of the week.
Day 30: 4,079 words. Last official day of NaNoWriMo and I’m ending this challenge having written more words than I have ever written in one month before. The story is nearly complete. I have three chapters left to go. 6,000 more words and this first draft will be complete.
Total Word Count end of NaNoWriMo 2021: 55,266 words. (Thank you to my lovely friend for the celebratory mug- I love it!)
December 2nd: 1,442 words. The story ended a bit sooner than I expected and it was the right place for it to pull to a close.
The complete first draft of MS:SOS sits at 56,776 words. I have never written so much so fast and it took a lot more out of me than I realized. I am happy it is done and ready to let it rest for awhile. It is time to enjoy a celebratory cup of tea, take some time to rest, and leave the reflections for next week.
